In their annual valuation of sports teams, Forbes listed the Celtics as the 27th most valuable team in the world at $2.5 Billion.

Overall, that ranks as the 5th highest amongst NBA teams leaving Boston behind the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Chicago Bulls. The Celtics are only one of 8 NBA teams that made the list. Via Statisa, the Celtics have been steadily rising in value since 2011, an indicator to how well the league has been performing.
Since the team was purchased by the Grousbeck’s, Pagliuca, and the rest of the ownership group, the teams value has gone up from $274 million to what it is today.
