Discussion topic: Do the Celtics need to make a trade?

Sometimes it is hard for me to parse through the noise of the vocal subsections of Celtics fans to get a true pulse on how people feel about the team. Sure, there’s the normal frustration after every loss, but sometimes you see things come up consistently enough to wonder if it is a real thing.

I’ve seen so many people comment and tweet that “the Celtics NEED to make a trade” at the NBA trade deadline that I decided to create a poll and find out how many people share that view. Here’s what I came up with on twitter.

There’s enough people answering “Yes” that I figured I’d do some follow up questions that everyone is welcome to chime in on in the comments below.

1. Would you be willing to trade a rotation player for draft assets? (Some have suggested this as addition by subtraction)
2. Which player are you most eager to part ways with (and why)?
3. What are the team needs that you would like to see addressed?
4. Now for the fun part, give us an example of a reasonable trade idea that accomplishes your goals at the trade deadline.
