Irving injured his right eye in the Celtics loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. Marco Belinelli swiped at a loose ball in the fourth quarter and caught the all-star point guard across the eye. Irving did return to the game and said that he would be alright during his postgame press conference.
Brad Stevens said that Irving would be given antibiotics as part of his treatment.
The Celtics will also be without Aron Baynes (left hand) and Robert Williams (left groin) when they face Minnesota tonight. The Timberwolves will be without Derrick Rose, Jeff Teague, and Robert Covington.
Wednesday’s game tips off from TD Garden at 8:00 PM EST.
