The Boston Celtics, after beating down the Cleveland Cavaliers by 46 points, are heading to Cleveland for a rematch in their preseason finale as the regular season looms next week. There’s just one little detail:
A large group of Celtics did not travel with the team for today’s game in Cleveland: Kemba, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kanter, Smart, Theis

That’s, like, every major rotation player on the team, including the entire starting lineup from Sunday’s contest. And that’s good! There’s no point risking injury in a meaningless preseason game, especially the last one right before the season. The Celtics will take this time to give their regulars some rest while also evaluating the end of the bench.
Big questions loom over the 15th roster spot. Will it go to Max Strus and his restructured contract? Will Javonte Green grab it? Will the Celtics leave it open for buyout season? Find out on the next exciting episode of ... never mind.
The 3-0 Celtics take on the Cavs tonight at 7PM EST for their final preseason contest.
