We are on the verge of starting another season enjoying the Celtics. Well, at least that is the plan anyway. We thought we were going to enjoy the season last year and for several reasons things went sideways. Yes, this is a forced analogy, but work with me here.
Sometimes good communities can go sideways when one or two things get out of hand. I don’t think that has happened here yet but I feel the need to provide annual reminders to make sure the chemistry in this locker room is still ubuntu.
This blog is for you. I’ve been doing this since 2004 and the foundation of it has always been the community that has organically grown here. I feel a responsibility to nurture and maintain that community by providing you a place to share thoughts about the team without fear of flame wars and spam bots.
For those new to the blog (or those that need a reminder) we have a long list of detailed rules (for the lawyers) that can essentially be boiled down into my favorite golden rule. Treat each other with respect. Everything else falls into place if you keep that in mind.
We have moderators that have volunteered their own precious time to assist in promoting that rule. They can’t be everywhere at all times but they do a great job of highlighting issues and thwarting spam attacks and trolls.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and we aim to give everyone the platform to share those opinions. The phrase “never read the comments” is all too often wise advice but the hope is that it doesn’t apply to this blog.
Help us keep this community as an awesome place to be a Celtics fan and connect with other Celtics fans.
Thanks! Go Celtics!
