The Celtics draft class is getting rave reviews from those around the team and it is easy to see why. So who do we think is going to be the best of the bunch this season?
Romeo Langford was the top pick (in the lottery at that) and was a really highly rated recruit coming out of high school. However, he has struggled with injuries both in college and during Summer League and preseason. He also seems to be in the process of re-tooling his jump shot. He could end up being the best of the bunch for the long term but I wonder if he’s going to end up being given the red-shirt treatment this season.
Grant Williams seems to have a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none impact on games already. He just does things on the court that don’t always show up in box scores but do put his team in position to win. Almost Marcus Smart-ish if you ask me. I’m a big fan already and I’ll bet Brad Stevens feels the same.
Then there’s the human meme Carsen Edwards. The Walking Bucket. Ok, fine he’s short, but you don’t have to be tall when you have flame thrower fingers.
Tremont Waters and Tacko Fall are on two way contracts so they’ll likely play the bulk of their minutes for Maine. I don’t think the candidates for the 15th roster spot have a chance of having better years than the above mentioned.
So who’s going to have the best year?
