There’s good news and bad news, so we’ll go over the bad news first. The Boston Celtics are taking on another Eastern Conference playoff team in the Indiana Pacers without Marcus Smart and Robert Williams III tonight in Indiana.
Celtics injury report for tonight against Indiana:
— Jay King (@ByJayKing) December 11, 2019
Romeo Langford - Right Ankle Sprain - AVAILABLE
Marcus Smart - Left Eye Infection - OUT
Robert Williams - Left Hip Soreness - OUT
The Celtics have a pivotal game tomorrow against the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow, so the hope is that both of these players are ready to go by then if not tonight. Smart, in particular, missed shootaround to rest in hopes of playing tonight, so maybe another 24 hours will give him the time he needs to get well enough to be able to play.
The good news is that Romeo Langford is finally healed up after injuring his right ankle. Langford has not been able to catch a break, and he wasn’t able to take advantage of Gordon Hayward’s absence because of injury woes. Now that he’s available tonight and Smart will be missing time, maybe tonight is the night when he’ll be able to leave a mark.
The Celtics tip off against the Pacers tonight at 7:00 PM EST.
