It’s going to be at least another day until we see Marcus Smart back with the Celtics. In his shoot around media availability, Brad Stevens provided an update on his pending return from an eye infection that has forced him to miss the last seven games and nearly three weeks:
#NEBHInjuryReport Brad Stevens says Marcus Smart is out today. He’ll get “a good, hard workout in” pregame today and could very well play tomorrow.

Smart got in a full workout yesterday and looks to be getting his legs underneath him:

Last pun on Smart’s injury: this is a sight for sore eyes. The Celtics have fared fairly well in his absence (5-2), but it’s hard not to think that they could be on an eleven-game winning streak if Marcus was healthy. He’s averaging nearly 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in twenty games this season and is a robust +68 in limited time.
In other injury news, Robert Williams will be evaluated in a few days as he progresses from a hip edema that has him slated to miss three weeks.
