The ailments have piled up for Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart and for the first time this season, it looks like he will miss game action.
Smart is officially listed as doubtful with an abdomen contusion for Wednesday’s night tilt with the visiting Miami Heat.

Gordon Hayward (left hand fracture) - OUT
Marcus Smart (abdomen contusion) - DOUBTFUL
Smart, who has already dealt with a bruised hip, sprained ankle, sprained fingers and a jammed knuckle this season, suffered a blow to his abdomen when defending a Kevin Knox drive early in the third quarter in Sunday’s win over the New York Knicks. Smart went straight to the locker room afterward and didn’t return to the game.

“Sounds like it’s just like a contusion, so that’s good, but that doesn’t mean it’s not super sore,” said Celtics coach Brad Steven of Smart’s injury. “And if it’s super sore, he’s not going to play.”
Smart also didn’t practice on Tuesday, either, due to an illness. Smart has suited up in all of the C’s first 19 games, starting 14 of them while posting 11.9 points, 4.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.
