Charting a different course

I may get hammered but for conversation lets chart a different course for the Celtics this off season. I just don't see Kyrie as a long term Celtic. He just doesn't fit here. It would be like if the Pistons Isiah Thomas was a Celtic. There is a personality along with the talent that make Celtics players.

So let's say that Kyrie doesn't sign or in my opinion Danny doesn't offer a contract because Kyrie is a pain in the ass and could be one move away from serious injury. I personally don't trust his knees nor that hip. He signs in NY, LA or Pluto for all I care.

Next, what if AD isn't traded here or you decide it isn't worth the price NO is asking.or AD will not commit long term? Ok, so now what? You still have a bucket of assets and the only one player to me that is untouchable is Tatum.

Does that bucket of draft picks along with whatever else get you to #1 in this year's draft? What if it did and you grab Zion Williamson? Big kid, can shoot, run the floor, active around the rim and another Duke player to pair with Tatum. Ok now what? July 1st rolls around and you sign Kemba Walker to fill your PG spot How terrible would Walker, Tatum, Haywood, Williamson and a Morris or whoever else Danny gets to round out the roster

Yes, this is a step back but the kids showed something last season-they can win and hang with the best. Were they championship caliber-No but maybe staying on the course of youth and letting them develop together could prove to be a better long term product

There are probably a 1000 different ways you could go and look if you can get AD without giving up Tatum and he will commit long term then by all means make that move but I just don't see that happening as I think Lebron is spinning this from behind the scenes and AD is destined to be a Laker so we must be ready to pivot
