Everyone was frustrated after last night’s loss and it showed in the comments. Kyrie Irving in particular didn’t seem to be in the mood to discuss the loss at length. via NBC Boston

Irving, who was sitting with Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge when the locker room opened to reporters, didn’t seem in a chatty mood. After a couple of longer answers to questions from TNT’s Jason Terry, part of the network’s Players Only broadcast, Irving answered five questions from the non-Players Only media with 19 total words.

Others had things to say, but Irving didn’t care to elaborate.

First Brad Stevens:

“I thought we were all over the place defensively tonight,” Stevens said. “And when I say ‘all over the place,’ I mean we were really ... we were taking a lot of short cuts, and that hurt us. But that stretch certainly hurt. When you score 33 in the first, and you’re sitting at 38 with three minutes to go in the second, it’s not a good thing.”

When Kyrie Irving was told about Stevens’ comment and asked how to fix it, he simply said “I don’t know, that’s up to Brad.”

Marcus Smart had additional thoughts:

“Not being together,” Smart said. “And that’s it. We’re just not together. Plain and simple. That’s it. Because if we were together that wouldn’t happen. We’re all talking and linking up, but like I said it’s something we’re going through and it’s something we’re going to have to continue to work at and figure it out. I’m really sure that we will. I just don’t know when. But I’m sure we’re going to figure it out. Just right now it’s going slower than we expected.”

When Kyrie was told about Marcus’ comments, he simply said ““That’s Marcus’ opinion, I respect it.”

And that was the end of his media comments.

Not fun times.
