Rozier & Wanamaker questionable against Portland

Boston’s guard rotation could be severely depleted on the second night of a back-to-back.

Coming off of last night’s embarrassment against the Toronto Raptors, the Boston Celtics face another test against the current 4th-seeded Portland Trail Blazers. Boston might have more trouble with an extremely light guard rotation.

Terry Rozier (knee) joins Brad Wanamaker (illness) and Aron Baynes (left foot contusion) on the injury report. While Baynes is out, Wanamaker and Rozier (both guards) are questionable. Wanamaker missed last night’s game against the Raptors, meaning that him missing tonight’s game would be a missed opportunity to carve out more regular minutes in the rotation.

With just Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown and Kyrie Irving being the only guards left in the regular rotation, look for Brad Stevens to be creative with his lineups. He could go big by throwing in Semi Ojeleye. The Celtics could potentially look to calling up RJ Hunter who posted 24 points on 5-10 shooting from 3 in the Maine Red Claws’ last outing. It’s possible that PJ Dozier will get a shot as well.

The Celtics tip off against the Portland Trail Blazers tonight at 8:00 PM EST on ESPN.
