The NBA announced on Tuesday night that Boston Celtics guard Jayson Tatum has been selected to participate in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge at this season’s All-Star Weekend in Charlotte. Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe previously reported that Tatum received an invitation to participate in the competition.

Tatum will be competing with Mike Conley, De’Aaron Fox, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Kyle Kuzma, Nikola Vucevic, and Trae Young.

Tatum will also represent the Celtics in the Rising Stars game, while Kyrie Irving will serve as the team’s honorary coach. The 20-year-old participated in the Rising Stars game last year at All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles alongside teammate Jaylen Brown, where he played a game-high 26 minutes, scoring 15 points on 7/13 shooting with 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

This announcement came in the middle of Tatum’s 25-point, 7-rebound night that led the Celtics to a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Skills Challenge will be the first event in the NBA’s All-Star Saturday Night, which takes place at 8:00 PM EST on Saturday, February 16. The event will be followed by the three-point and slam-dunk contests.
