Celtics Blog Podcast: 76ers break through and fresh legs

Alex Kungu officially joined Havlicek Stole the Pod. Philly beat Boston for the first time since A.I.

Alex Kungu is officially in the studio and ready to defend the continued usage of Marcus Morris and denounce that the 76ers turned a corner over the Celtics this week. Expect his takes now — in place of the dearly departed — every week on Havlicek Stole the Pod.

Philadelphia’s win over Boston, their first all year, exemplified two major issues that Danny Ainge articulated lately. The Celtics’ lack of free throw attempts (16 to Philly’s 42 in the loss) puts a lot of pressure on high-variance Boston three-point attempts. Boston also struggled to control the flow of the game, up double-digits multiple times.

The ascension to three didn’t bother Terry Rozier and the Celtics, at least according to Kyrie Irving seem ready to flip the switch come playoff time. If that’s possible. We weigh that notion that he apparently carried from the Cavaliers, and assume that trip back to Cleveland will be one of the three games Irving said he’ll sit out.
