We’ve seen it countless times this season. The Celtics give up a basket, rush a shot on the other end which leaves them out of position in transition defense which leads to another basket. Then the floodgates are open and the Celtics are in another hole they need to dig themselves out of.
Some coaches would be quick to call a timeout in order to re-set their team and stop the momentum. Brad Stevens, on the other hand, tends to prefer to let the Celtics play through those moments, counting on the learning experience to prepare them for future runs. That also tends to save his timeouts for when he may need them late in the half or game.
What’s your preference?
