Kyrie Irving (left thigh contusion) - OUT
The update came in a little under five hours before tip-off in Sacramento after the Celtics previously reported a clean bill of health earlier in the afternoon. Irving was the only change to the initial list.
Irving had 19 points and 11 assists on 7/15 shooting in Tuesday’s blowout of the Golden State Warriors. Despite taking the entire fourth quarter off in night one of this back-to-back, he’ll sit out part two before heading to Los Angeles to face the Lakers and Clippers.
Terry Rozier will likely start in Irving’s place, as he has for most of this season during the all-star’s absences. Rozier is averaging 13.3 points and 6.8 assists on 43.9 percent shooting per 36 over his starts this season.
The Kings and Celtics tip-off tonight from Golden 1 Center at 10:00 PM PST.
