Nick Wright hiding in plain sight

I don't understand Nick Wright's attack on Enes Kanter. If he doesn't think he is a good player, I might understand. But he is frequently outspoken against the Celtics, their management and decisions. So, if Nick Wright doesn't like Kanter, and doesn't like the Celtics, then he should be celebrating their new partnership, not bashing it. It makes no sense.

Of course, Kanter has been in the news for years, as an outspoken critic of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkey's decent into authoritarianism. Erdogan wants Kanter in jail, and Kanter would not travel to play in Europe for fear of kidnap, murder, or extradition.

I thought maybe Nick Wright's sensitivity to Kanter might be fueled by some Turkish ancestry, or political allegiance, instead of by athletic performance or personality. However, he has hidden his ethnicity. Interesting.
