Following on from yesterday’s community poll we have another. In a recent article, the Ringer’s Zach Kram recently broke down the “Young Core Rankings” where I’m not gonna lie, I was surprised to find that the Celtics were ranked only 8th best in the league for players under 25 years of age. Kram used a convoluted “projected futures forecasting” AKA voodoo science to achieve these scores and parameters.
I don’t believe we have an exact metric to grade young talent and we’ve seen in the past that this kind of thing can be flipped on it’s head or even thrown out the window entirely after a solitary break-out season.
Undeniably some teams garner respect when it comes to measuring the young talent on offer, Denver, Dallas and New Orleans spring to mind, but teams like Memphis and Minnesota are ranked higher than our beloved young Celtics!?! What do you think, do we have a better cast of young, promising talent than the other teams ranked above us?
