The Celtics stayed at No. 14 in the 2020 NBA Draft and selected sophomore Vanderbilt guard Aaron Nesmith, who was projected to go at roughly that spot. He is arguably the best shooter in the draft, finishing 52% from three on 116 shots and the Garden Report reacted immediately to the newest Celtics star who projects to plug in and contribute right away. Danny Ainge said only Jayson Tatum compares to Nesmith as a shooter in Boston currently. Bobby Manning, John Zannis, Josue Pavon and Jimmy Toscano host.
The Celtics selected the Oregon Ducks senior guard Payton Pritchard at No. 26 in what could be a move to back up Kemba Walker and add more scoring depth to Boston’s bench. Prichard is a veteran aggressive scorer, who unloads shots and attacks the rim at will while drilling roughly 40% of his threes at Oregon. He’s older, but seasoned enough in game and role situations to fit on the Celtics right away.

Aaron Nesmith said he can make life easier for Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum with his shooting after the Celtics selected him No. 14 in the NBA Draft. He wore a green suit on draft night, indicating that he and the Celtics had some understanding they would likely select him if they could. Nesmith is the best shooter in the draft after a 52% three point shooting season that ranked him in the 100th percentile of college basketball.
