BOSTON — Kemba Walker may not be available for the Celtics on opening night when the season begins roughly a month from now, due to a lingering knee issue.
The latest update coming from head coach Brad Stevens who appeared on this week’s Bob Ryan and Jeff Goodman Podcast on the CLNS Media Network. Stevens expects the start to the regular season to be similar to that which preceded Boston’s bubble run.
The Celtics reportedly tried and failed to keep Gordon Hayward in Boston with a hefty $100 million offer, but he spurned that and a similar Indiana Pacers push for $120 million from the Hornets. Would it have been a good idea for Danny Ainge to go to those lengths to keep him? How much blame should he receive for getting nothing back? Does Tristan Thompson suffice?
