Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart announced via Twitter Sunday night that he has fully recovered from the COVID-19 virus.
Smart, who was the only member of the Celtics to test positive for the illness, tweeted that the Massachusetts Department of Health cleared him on Friday. Smart had informed the public on March 19 through a tweet that he received positive results for the coronavirus and had already been in self quarantine five days prior from when he shared that news.
Corona Free as of two days ago. Cleared by Mass Dept of Health.

Thanks for everyone’s thoughts and prayers and I’m doing the same for everyone that’s been effected by this. Stay safe and stay together- apart!
Much love!
Smart has used his elevated platform to try to educate others on the seriousness of the illness that he and countless people from around the world have faced, while also advocating for the public to adopt the practices to combat the spread, like staying at home and social distancing, of the COVID-19 virus.
I’m sure all of Celtics nation can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Smart bounced back from this difficult setback like he always has when faced with adversity.
