Smart’s anger was incited by a foul call towards the end of regulation, resulting in Caris Lavert sinking three free-throws to take the game into overtime. Smart then found further issue with the officials as he fouled out of the game during the ensuing overtime.
After the game ended, Smart was then caught on camera berating the officials decisions with the game on the line. That outburst led to Smart being escorted off the court in an attempt to deescalate the situation.
