Jayson Tatum continues to step up for the Boston Celtics, even if it’s away from the court these days.
The 22-year-old Tatum announced on Instagram Monday that he is pledging to donate $250,000 through his foundation in an effort to provide meals to those heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in Boston along with his hometown of St. Louis.
Tatum isn’t alone in this initiative, as he teamed up with longtime friend and Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, who is adding in $250,000 of his own donation. Tatum and Beal, who both attended the same high school, will match donations up to that amount as they joined Feeding America and Lineage Logistics to make this endeavor possible through the “Share a Meal” campaign.
Tatum asked those who are able to contribute monetarily to consider doing so as the donation will go to either the Greater Boston Food Bank or the St. Louis Area Food Bank (here’s the link to make a donation: https://linktr.ee/jaytatum0).
Here at the CelticsBlog, we’ve tried to lend a helping hand to those in need by creating a fundraiser and partnering with the Boston Foundation. Please consider helping those who need assistance during this difficult time by following this link.
