What if we re-drafted the 2016 draft?

Would history repeat itself?

The third and final re-draft was a mixed bag for me. The good news is that I got Jaylen Brown again, so I consider the day won regardless. The bad news is that the rest of the draft was very much shooting darts as I scrambled to research the best players in that draft class.

Kind of interesting (but not surprising) that the top 3 picks were exactly the same as the original draft. I do remember people saying that we had the 3rd pick in a “two player draft.” Turns out it was a bit deeper than that.

I suppose I should have given more thought to picking Siakam in this spot but I was partial to Jaylen and still believe he has an even higher ceiling to reach for. Nobody else even was close.

After the top 12 the talent drops off quite a bit. I thought about Kris Dunn or Furkan Korkmaz but ended up taking a shot on Cheick Diallo even though I have to admit I’m not overly familiar with his game.

With that in the books I knew I had to “phone a friend” on my next pick and the staff suggested Juan Hermangomez. Done and done.

Did I mention that I got Jaylen Brown? I don’t really want to ask you how I did but I have a feeling you’ll let me know.

We didn’t do a re-draft of the 2017 draft but here’s a spoiler alert. I would have picked Jayson Tatum (No, I would not have had the guts to trade back 2 spots).
