Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the third week of the NBA season:

Tatum averaged 33.0 points and 5.3 rebounds for the week, as Boston went 3-0. Tatum also shot 52% from behind the arc during the week.

This is Tatum’s second Player of the Week nod, as he was named POTW last season for the first full week of February. Tatum also garnered Player of the Month honors for the month of February.

On the young season, Tatum is averaging career-high in points (26.9 PPG), rebounds (7.1 RPG) and assists (3.8 APG). Tatum is also shooting at near-best levels for his career at 47.4% overall, 43.8% on three-pointers and 88.9% from the free throw line.

Tatum was recently placed in the health and safety protocols and is reportedly facing an absence of 10-to-14 days. The first two games Tatum was scheduled to miss (Sunday vs Miami, Tuesday at Chicago) were both postponed by the NBA.
