Celtics PRIDE podcast: Tristan vs. Embiid and the Nesmith-Langford conundrum

After a disappointing showing in Philadelphia and bounce back performances in the last two games, the gang reviews the state of the Celtics.

On this episode of Celtics PRIDE, Adam Motenko, Josh Motenko and Mike Minkoff begin to evaluate the season thus far, especially focusing on the stars and the Celtics’ depth. This year’s squad needs Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum to make a leap and Kemba Walker to get healthy.

The crew also discusses the likelihood of that future and regrets previous limitations they put on Jaylen Brown’s ceiling. Then they evaluate the new free agents Tristan Thompson and Jeff Teague as well as review Brad Stevens’ evaluation of those players.

The guys update Romeo’s return and potential impact and the massive hole on the wing that Aaron Nesmith is simply not ready to fill.

They also play a game of True or False: Is Tristan Thompson a worse Embiid defender than Enes Kanter? Is Semi Ojeleye an acceptable rotation player for a deep playoff team?

Finally Mike and Josh get into another argument about whether leadership and skill development parallels exist between the NBA and the traditional workforce.

About Celtics PRIDE Podcast: Co-Hosts Adam Motenko, his identical twin brother Josh Motenko, and their friend Mike Minkoff couldn’t stop talking about the team. Now they supply your need for Boston Celtics content with their regular podcast on CelticsBlog.

They will talk nerdy to you, dissect the players on and off the court, and bicker like only opinionated New Englanders can. It’s like if CelticsBlog made a BasketballJones / Dunc’dOn lovechild.

You will get the coach’s perspective, the capologist’s view, and a healthy dose of advanced and traditional stats that breakdown everything that happened and could happen with the #1 dynasty in the NBA. If you often find yourself reminiscing about the players you grew up watching, or you just need reminders about what “being a Celtic” means to you, this is the podcast for you.
