The Boston Celtics currently stand at 19-17 and the season is exactly halfway over. Reminder here that this year’s season is shortened to just 72 games.
At their current pace (.528), they would finish with just 38 wins. If they want to get to 40 wins, they’ll have to finish the year on a .583 pace.
As of right now the site FiveThirtyEight has them projected to finish with 41 games.
One key element to consider is health. The Celtics expect to have Marcus Smart and Romeo Langford back soon. One would hope that they’ll have a healthy Kemba Walker (even if he’ll still be sitting out back-to-backs). Hopefully Jayson Tatum can be fully recovered from COVID and Jaylen Brown will have enough time to rest his knees for the stretch run.
Another wildcard is the trade deadline. Will the Celtics make a move that moves the needle?
So tell us how many wins you think the Celtics will end up with. For bonus points, pick the seed they’ll have in the Eastern Conference.
