This is a very good thing for the Celtics.

Jaylen Brown looks rested - Jaylen Brown looks good

His knee is probably going to need rest and maintenance for most of the year - in particular given the hectic schedule and all the “heavy lifting” that he needs to do on this team. But tonight’s first half reminds us that a well rested Jaylen is very dynamic, effective, and efficient. He finished the half with 16 points on 7-9 shooting. Kemba hasn’t looked bad either with 11 points on 4-8 shooting (with 3 threes). Tatum, on the other hand, has been cold thus far (0-3 from 3 and 3-10 overall).

Tonight’s opponent threatening to score 40 is...

The headliner for the Clippers with Kawhi Leonard out (back spasms) has been Paul George. He’s just the latest star player to threaten for 40 points as he has 21 at the half. He’s looked really good with step back 3’s, points in the paint, and a couple of assists and rebounds to boot.

You get a basket, and you get a basket, and you get a basket

The Clippers are shooting over 58% from the field and only lead the Celtics by 1 point at the half. Boston is shooting 53% themselves. Reggie Jackson and Mook Morris are both 4-7 with 10 points each. Let’s see who cools off first and who can maintain that pace.
