The Celtics beat the Magic 112-96 and Kevin O’Connor promptly released an array of trade rumors that connected Boston to John Collins, Aaron Gordon and announced that Lonzo Ball could be available in a deal.

The Garden Report reacted to the game and the rumors below, along with Celtics press conferences courtesy of CLNS Media.

Can Celtics Rely on Three Pointers Like Win vs Magic?

After three straight losses and starting off the second half of the season at 1-4, Boston pulled out a 112-96 win against the Orlando Magic at TD Garden. The Celtics managed to shoot well from deep as a team, shooting 42.% from deep (23/54 3P) while focusing on their defensive effort and ball movement. The Garden Report and A. Sherrod Blakely break down the team performance by Boston in their win.

Best 3 Point Shooting Night Ever for Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown finished one three away from beating teammate Marcus Smart’s record for most threes in a game by a Celtics player. Brown said that if he had known he was almost there he would have taken “five or six more threes.” He also stated that despite the shooting success, he didn’t feel as though this was a great shooting night for him. Brown said that he “missed a lot of threes that should have gone down. A lot of wide-open ones.” Brown’s 10 threes marked a career-high for him in the win vs the Magic. The Garden Report debated if he’s back from his recent struggles.

Should Celtics Trade for John Collins or Aaron Gordon?

With only three days until the NBA Trade Deadline, the Celtics are actively pursuing John Collins of the Hawks and Aaron Gordon of the Magic, according to Kevin O’Connor after the Celtics won vs the Magic on Sunday. Danny Ainge hopes to pull Bogdan Bogdanovic into a larger deal with Atlanta, but the Hawks aren’t excited to deal Collins after winning eight straight games and a deal would require Robert Williams III and draft picks. The same likely goes for Gordon, under contract with no urgency for Orlando to move him quickly unless they receive a fair offer. Will the Celtics be aggressive? The Garden Report debated.

Is Aaron Nesmith A Bust?

Aaron Nesmith (3 PTS, 1/4 FG, 1/3 3P, 4 REB, 1 STL) played 15 minutes in Boston’s win against Orlando, but didn’t shoot as well as fans would have hoped. There were multiple moments in the game where Nesmith looked lost on plays, and nowhere near ready for the speed of NBA basketball. The Garden Report discusses Nesmith’s outing and their concerns about his development with the Celtics.

Marcus Smart Passing Leads Celtics Win vs Magic

In their win against the Orlando Magic, Marcus Smart was focused and communicating with his teammates, and was a major reason why the team was better defensively and moving the ball on offense. His voice and leadership was sorely missed during his injury recovery, and his importance to the team’s ceiling is crucial. The Garden Report crew discusses Smart’s solid performance in Boston’s bounceback win.

Who Would You Trade for Lonzo Ball?

With the trade deadline speeding forward on March 25th, multiple players have hit the trade block, one of which is Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball. As a gifted passer with a knack for defense, what would Lonzo Ball’s potential fit on Boston be? What would be the asking price? The Garden Report weighs in.
