Kemba Walker Beats Devin Booker in Celtics Win vs Suns
The Boston Celtics were able to take down the red hot Phoenix Suns, winning 99-86. The C’s have now won eight of their last nine games.
Kemba Walker led the way in the scoring department, pouring in 32 points. This covered up another rough night of shooting from Jayson Tatum, who shot 3-17 from the field once again, scoring 15 points. Marcus Smart added 14 points and Payton Pritchard scored 10 as well.
For the Suns, Chris Paul was the only guy who could find his rhythm. Paul finished with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Devin Booker finished with 15 points on 16-13 shooting, although his slow start really hurt the team. Booker also fouled out at the hands of Kemba Walker with a little under five minutes left in the game.
The Garden Report breaks down what went right and what went wrong. Jimmy starts the show by calling out John for his incessant Kemba slander, and the ball gets rolling from there.
Is Kemba Walker Ready to Perform in Playoffs?
Kemba Walker scored 32 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists to continue his best month of the season. He’s passing well, scoring at the rim and playing efficiently, shooting 11-of-17 and outplaying Devin Booker in a 99-86 Celtics win vs the Suns on Thursday. He’ll continue to miss back-to-backs, but appears back to all star form as he continues to play quality games next to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, while stepping up to the next level when needed. John Zannis, however, won’t do an apology cam after initially doubting he’d play well this season or even be healthy.
What is Wrong with Jayson Tatum?
Jayson Tatum is now shooting 6-of-34 over the last two Celtics games, but this time found other ways to succeed on the boards, with passing and defensive intensity in a 99-86 win vs the Suns. Why is Tatum missing? Is it a reason to be concerned after he returned to All-NBA form to begin April? He posted 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 free throws.
