For those of you making summer plans to Sin City next month, the Summer League schedule has been announced for the post-draft exhibition in August:

  • August 8th, 4 pm EST vs. Atlanta (NBA TV, Cox Arena)
  • August 10th, 7 pm EST vs. Denver (ESPNU, Thomas & Mack)
  • August 12th, 7 pm EST vs. Orlando (ESPN2, Cox Arena)
  • August 14th, 5 pm EST vs. Philadelphia (NBA TV, Cox Arena)
  • August 16-17th, Playoffs

As previously reported, Boston is expected to field a fairly veteran team in Vegas. Both of last year’s first round picks, Aaron Nesmith and Payton Pritchard, will be with the Summer Celtics after missing last year due to the pandemic. They’ll be joined by third year players Romeo Langford and Carsen Edwards whereas Grant Williams is not expected to be with the team.

As of now, the Celtics also have the 45th pick in the second round of tomorrow’s NBA Draft. They’ve been linked to Oklahoma’s Austin Reaves after he worked out for the team for a second time yesterday. Whether it’s Reaves or not, it’s likely that that player would also be on the Summer League team.

Most of the excitement for the summer showcase revolves around Yam Madar. After being chosen with the 47th pick in last year’s draft, Madar was the Israeli Premier League’s Most Improved Player and finished with All-Israeli Basketball Premier League Second Team honors.
