“I don’t know how we keep going backwards,” Jayson Tatum said when learning of his 90 overall rating in NBA 2K’s latest installment. “I had 50 points in the playoffs twice, four 50-point games ... tied Larry Bird’s record ... 27 a night.”

But Tatum followed his impressive resumè with his intentions, saying, “I’m up for the challenge.”

After averaging 26.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game and earning his second All-Star Game selection, Tatum’s overall remained the same as 2k21, where he was a 90 at launch.

NBA 2k22 drops on Sept. 10, 2021, and the NBA season tips off just over a month later on Tuesday, Oct. 19. Tatum and the Celtics see the floor first in New York against the Knicks Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m ET.
