An unfortunate headline from a well meaning quote.

So I searched Celtics news and found this headline rather quickly...

C's Drawn In by Udoka’s ‘Contagious Personality’ at Day 1 of Camp

This comes off the heels of Udoka testing positive for Covid. There has to be a better choice of words, right? Not saying it's intentional. I read the article and apparently it's a direct quote from Nesmith. And no, he didn't seem to be trying to be funny. (Though I did find it funny.) He was talking about Ime in a very positive light.

Here is the quote in case anyone is interested:

"He’s a very upbeat guy, a very fun guy, loves to compete," said the 21-year-old. "I think his personality is contagious and it’ll continue to trickle down throughout the team."

And again, this comes from the first article I linked. So you can see where the title came from.

Now I am pretty certain Nesmith meant no harm. I mainly just thought it was funny. While I am already making the post, though, does anyone here think he should have been more careful with his word choice? Should we try to avoid words like 'contagious or infectious' to describe other people right now? Or is that just being overly sensitive?

One thing I am taking away is that, at least so far, the players all seem to like Ime Udoka. Not a bad word about him so far. (Ok... Maybe one accidental bad word. Lol.) While it is early, this does seem like a positive sign. Pun intended.
