Why would the Celtics do it.... Breaking up the and parting ways with Rob Williams may be unpopular among Celtics fans, but getting 2 All-Star players and a defensive gem can be too good to pass up. The trio of Tatum, Simmons and Sabonis is very solid and young and have not yet reached the peak of their careers at this point. Sabonis is a constant post-up threat but still has a perimeter/outside shot so as not to clog the inside to allow Ben Simmons to operate. Both Simmons and Sabonis are better passers and are triple double threats any game. With Thybulle now in the roster, the Celtics can now package Marcus Smart and free-agent-to-be Dennis Schroeder to the Clips perhaps for Marcus Morris and Serge Ibaka.

The Pacers are not a very good team right now, sitting at 13th in the East... Brown, Horford and Williams and a draft pick might be enough for them to say yes to a reload...

Dame is not healthy, out about 6 weeks. The blazers are not going to contend. Sending Lillard to a contender is the Blazers doing Lillard a favor, plus they are benefitting by getting younger but serviceable players in Turner, Levert and Maxey plus picks. Maxey and Anfernee Simons is the backcourt of the future for the Blazers. I guess, McCollum should be next on the trading block

Lastly, the Sixers have been very good despite the Ben Simmons saga. They are already a contender. Imagine adding a clutch superstar just in time for the playoffs. With Simmons not playing, it is just like Maxey and Thybulle and picks for Lillard. They will not say no to that!

Apologies... too much idle time...
